Title - Trade Associate

Salary - $100,000 to $135,000

Location - NYC

Summary

We are currently partnering with a leading multi-strategy hedge fund that is seeking to add talent to their trade support team at the associate level. In this role, the individual will be responsible for managing the trade lifecycle, acting as a liaison between clients, traders, and the back office, directly covering a portion of the book, and overseeing trade activity. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate incisiveness, and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Confirm daily trade activity and manage exceptions in various products such as bonds, repos, interest rate swaps, credit, FX, futures, options, and other OTC derivatives
• Verify and reconcile all positions with traders and trading counterparties
• Work with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and external trading counterparties to resolve trade-related issues promptly
• Review daily transaction, position, and cash reconciliations
• Respond to ad hoc queries from internal and external clients
• Participate in the onboarding process for new PM teams, including account setup, platform training, and third-party connectivity
• Push for continuous improvement of the team's processes via automation and identifying opportunities for increased efficiency

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
• 2-7 years of experience in a Trade Support, Middle Office, Operations, or similar function at a buy-side institution
• Knowledge of fixed income and derivatives products, with a preference towards rates and credit
• Superior problem-solving and analytical skills, strong work ethic, self-motivated, confident, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Geneva and ClearPar is preferred and a basic understanding of VBA is helpful but not required
